Multiple visitors have noted the Cannery Park splash pad is sometimes off during warmer days. The splash pad only operates when temperatures reach 80ºF, which can lead to frustration on warm days when families expect it to be on.
Parks near downtown and transit hubs experience occasional break-ins, package theft, and speeding on surrounding roads.
Some parks and creekways see temporary encampments or increased transient foot traffic. The City uses the Access Hayward Encampment Tool to monitor and clean up sites.
Parks like Eden Greenway and Stratford Village Park do not have public restrooms, limiting how long families can comfortably stay.
